The Accidental Fashionista

The name Louis Vuitton is one of the most internationally renowned luxury brand that stirs the hearts of millions. So much so that it has also become one of the most counterfeited contemporary labels around. I just came back from the mall and I saw this lady carrying a multi-colored monogram counterfeit LV tote that instead of it being LV, the monograms looked like XL to me!

So anyways, back to Fashion Forward Friday, I was checking out the Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 Collection and I believe Marc Jacobs had created a line that just screamed to me, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!”

Straight from the eighties with the ruffles, poufed shoulders, ruched bodices, padded shoulders, Marc Jacobs certainly put some zing in the LV Fall 2009 collection! Seems like he was paying tribute to all the trends that we thought of as fashion faux pas of the 80’s.. and turning it into absolute gorgeousness..

The 62nd Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet was loaded with a bevy of beauties in stunning designer dresses. The 11 day event has begun and here are some of the mind blowing style stars that graced the event with their presence.At the Premiere of Pixar’s latest animation film “UP” among the stars that stole the spotlight were:

Elizabeth Banks, wearing a one-shouldered Armani Privé Spring 2009 red gown. Absolutely STUN-NING!

Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a white strapless Roberto Cavalli gown with a ruffled tiered skirt.

Also in Roberto Cavalli was actress Shu Qi,wearing a teal colored strapless dress which I thought was gorgeous but not up to par with the other ladies on the red carpet.

 Not to be outdone, Alessa Piovan chose to wear a Alberta Ferretti gown.

Robin Wright-Penn was shimmering in platinum silver metallic Elie Saab Fall 2007 Couture off-the-shoulder draped gown.

The following day, at the “Spring Fever” Premiere, Elizabeth Banks returned with a more dramatic look compared to the previous day, looking like a pin up model in her Andrew GN Fall 2009 navy sequined gown.

Aishwarya Rai chose a more understated look but equally gorgeous in her baby blue Elie Saab Spring 2009 Couture gown.

Devon Aoki wowed the crowd in her custom violet silk chiffon one-shoulder Alberta Ferretti gown, with a Swarovski clutch.

At the “Bright Star” Premiere, which was on the 3rd day of the 62nd Cannes Film Festival, actress Abbie Cornish looked lovely in a lavender, one-shoulder gown complete with ruffles, tiers and pleats as well as a long train - by Australian designer Toni Maticevski - as she posed for photographers.

But the brightest star of all, at the “Bright Star” Premiere was none other than Eva Longoria wearing an ice blue Atelier Versace Spring 2009 gown, with embroidered studded details, and a stunning shimmering train.

With more premieres and photocalls to go at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival, there’ll definitely be more red carpet looks to look out for! So stay tuned!!
