Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style (Part 1)
Make it Work!!!
Now, isn’t that the catch phrase that we always get to hear on EVERY SINGLE episode of Project Runway? Eventhough it gets old or hilarious to take seriously, there IS a reason for Tim Gunn being there. He know style really well.
So anyways, according to Tim Gunn, these are your wardrobe essentials. Your absolute must-haves! Have these in your wardrobe, and you can MAKE IT WORK!
1) LBD (Little Black Dress) - To pull it off during the day, pair it with flats and a jewel-toned cardigan. At night, opt for strappy heels and statement jewelry!
2) Trench Coat - A belted trench coat is essential for those living in colder climates. You can belt it on over your LBD at night and just layer it over your jeans and T during the weekend.
3) Classic Dress Pants - Tim says, “Whether in black, navy, charcoal - a wool or silk pant that falls from the widest part of your hip is a wardrobe MUST!” Pair it with a chic blouse, blazer, flowy silk or chiffon top and you’ll look AMAZING!
4) Versatile Skirt - A skirt that you can dress up with a blazer or dress down with a denim jacket. The length should be no longer than the bottom of your kneecap, or shorter than just above your knee.
5) Fitted Blazer - Pull it over with a feminine blouse and perfect-fit jeans for the weekend or for work, pair it with a textured skirt.
6) Classic White Shirt - “Whether paired with dress pants, a skirt, or jeans, this item is always polished and sophisticated. Just be mindful of the proper clothing maintenance!” says Tim.
I whole-heartedly agree with Tim Gunn’s must haves list. It’s really great to have these pieces of clothing in our wardrobe and you can be elegantly stylish without worrying about the current trend. These items are positively timeless!
Well, that’s it for Part 1 of Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style here on The Accidental Fashionista. Do stay tuned for Part 2. There will be 5 more pieces of wardrobe essentials to look forward to!
Love,
S.

I agree these are some of the most essentials! My personal favorite would be the little black dress which you can dress up and down.
I cannot wait for Part 2!
